About Shira Baratz

Shira Baratz, an associate at Meland Budwick, P.A., focuses her practice on both corporate restructuring and commercial litigation. Her bankruptcy practice includes the representation of debtors in possession, official committees of unsecured creditors, trustees, and other interested parties in chapter 11 proceedings. Shira also handles corporate and civil litigation including shareholder disputes, complex contractual issues, and distressed real estate disputes.

Prior to joining the firm, Shira was a bankruptcy associate at a New Jersey-based law firm and was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Ann Nevins, Chief Judge of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Connecticut.

Shira received her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and her B.A. from Barnard College. While in law school, Shira was a judicial intern for the Honorable Jose L. Linares, former Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, and a student extern in the Civil Division of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.
