Utibe I. Ikpe and Meaghan Murphy Named Among the Daily Business Review’s 2024 Florida Legal Awards Honorees

Miami | February 1, 2024 – Meland Budwick partners Utibe I. Ikpe and Meaghan Murphy were named among the Daily Business Review 2024 Florida Legal Awards honorees and finalists. Utibe is recognized in the  “On the Rise (Small/Midsize Firm)” category and Meaghan is a finalist in the “Deal Makers of the Year” category. The Daily Business Review will recognize the honorees of the South Florida legal community and announce the winners of each finalist category at the awards dinner on April 4, 2024, at the JW Marriott Marquis, Miami. 

The Florida Legal Award’s “On the Rise” category recognizes South Florida attorneys under the age of 40 who demonstrate strong leadership qualities, show expertise in litigation or transactional work, and commit themselves to pro bono, charitable, and professional volunteer work. The “Dealmaker of the Year” award highlights major transactions in South Florida in practice areas such as corporate, M&A, venture capital, bankruptcy, and tax. 

Utibe focuses her practice on commercial litigation. She represents large and small businesses in complicated litigation disputes, including, among others, shareholder disputes, D&O liability, trade secret litigation, and fraudulent transfer claims.

Meaghan Murphy, a partner with Meland Budwick, P.A, focuses her practice on bankruptcy and complex commercial litigation. In her bankruptcy practice, Meaghan represents business debtors, bankruptcy trustees, creditors and creditors committees in a variety of Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 proceedings, with an emphasis on representing commercial landlords and tenants.
