MIAMI – November XX, 2016 – As part of its ongoing expansion in response to increased client demand, law firm Meland Budwick, P.A. today announced its hiring of three attorneys: Michele Haft Hudson, of counsel; Zaharah Markoe, of counsel; and Bryan Vega, associate.

Haft Hudson focuses her practice on commercial real estate and complex transactions. She has almost 30 years of experience representing developers, borrowers, lenders, retailers, restauranteurs, sellers, buyers, landlords, tenants, investors and brokers engaged in all types of real estate transactions, as well as transactions not involving real estate. She has extensive commercial leasing experience. During her career, Haft Hudson has worked with firms ranked by Am Law 100 and 200, and has served as in-house counsel for a successful national shopping center developer. As a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator, she has mediated civil and regulatory disputes, including mortgage foreclosures. She received law and bachelor’s degrees, both cum laude, from Georgetown University.

Markoe focuses her practice on commercial litigation, financial frauds, e-discovery solutions, and government enforcement defense. Prior to joining the firm, Markoe worked in both  the New York and Miami offices of international litigation boutique Kobre & Kim. Her experience includes representing executives and companies in all aspects of civil litigation and regulatory matters, including class action defense, government enforcement defense, arbitrations, and appeals. She also has extensive experience in investigations by the United States Department of Justice, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.  Her experience also includes handing complex civil and contract matters, including trade secret and restrictive covenant enforcement. She received a law degree, with honors, from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Columbia University, where she was on the Dean’s List.

Vega focuses his practice on real estate, corporate, and transactional matters. Prior to joining the firm, Vega was an attorney at Greenberg Traurig. He has extensive experience in real estate matters, including representing clients in connection with the acquisition, financing, development, construction, leasing and sale of commercial and residential real estate. He received a law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Miami School of Law, and a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from the University of Florida.
