Meland Budwick Adds Real Estate Pro From Cozen O’Connor

Meland Budwick PA has bolstered its real estate and corporate group in Miami with the addition of a partner from Cozen O’Connor.

At his new firm, Dan Matos will continue his work representing developers, institutional investors and lenders on acquisitions, financing, joint ventures and other commercial real estate transactions throughout the country, Meland Budwick announced Wednesday.

“I am excited to join Meland Budwick and contribute to the continued growth of its real estate practice,” Matos said in a statement. “The firm has an excellent reputation for handling sophisticated transactions while providing practical, responsive counsel, and I look forward to working with the team and serving our clients.”

Matos previously practiced at national and international law firms in Miami and New York, Meland Budwick said.

“Dan’s experience in joint ventures, financing and acquisitions complements the work our team handles for developers, investors, lenders and other real estate clients,” Mark Meland, chair of the firm’s real estate and corporate group, said in a statement.

A graduate of Cornell Law School, Matos also earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University. He is admitted to practice in Florida and New York and is fluent in Spanish.

Matos is Meland Budwick’s second partner addition this year. Former federal prosecutor Will Rosenzweig also joined the firm and expanded its commercial litigation and trial capabilities.

Meland Budwick, founded in 1993, is a Miami-based law firm that serves corporate, fiduciary and individual clients.
