Dan Matos
Partner

Dan Matos is a Miami-based commercial real estate attorney who guides developers, investors, and lenders through their most significant transactions. Clients rely on him for business-minded judgment, responsiveness, and a practical focus on getting complex deals across the finish line. His practice spans acquisitions, development, joint ventures, financing and commercial leasing.

Dan has advised clients on complex, high-value transactions across a range of property types. His work has included representing syndicated lenders in a $1 billion financing for the acquisition and improvement of property in Times Square and negotiating the formation of a joint venture for the largest multifamily acquisition in Queens of the year. He has also represented clients in the acquisition and disposition of more than $300 million of manufactured home communities across the country. Because manufactured home communities are a highly regulated asset class shaped by complicated local law considerations, this experience positions Dan to guide clients through every aspect of a transaction, from initial structuring and diligence through closing.

Prior to joining Meland Budwick, Dan practiced at leading national and international law firms in Miami and New York, where he represented developers, institutional investors, and lenders in matters throughout the United States.

Dan earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School, where he served as managing editor of the Cornell International Law Journal. During law school, he also served as a judicial intern to the Honorable Eric G. Bruggink of the United States Court of Federal Claims. Dan earned his B.B.A. magna cum laude from Florida International University.
